How to get here

Proprietors Richard and Julia Jackson welcome guests to their inn which stands high in the North Pennines and where log fires blaze - even on the cooler summer days. Many a weary traveller has refreshed himself at their bar, the flagged floor having withstood the tramping of many a boot.

The George and Dragon is an inn with a unique character. Originally built in the 17th century as a coaching inn it has been deeply associated with the changes in custom which have taken place over the years. Once serving the original lead and zinc mining community it now welcomes visitors who are following the Pennine Way, C to C Cycle Route and The Ravenglass to Holy Island Coast to Coast Walk..

Accommodation:
Double and single rooms make up the accommodation, all with washbasins, fresh linen and tea/coffee making facilities at a most reasonable rate which includes full English breakfast. Residents have the use of a lounge with TV and books and maps.

Good Eating:
