Small but perfectly formed, this is an extremely picturesque corner of the Lake District locked away behind the Honister Pass south of Keswick and the magnificent Borrowdale. Buttermere is less than half a mile from Crummock Water, equally beautiful but larger. Sandwiched between the two in this stunning valley is the tiny hamlet of Buttermere where people stop for refreshment..

You can walk around the lake in about an hour enjoying the tremendous views which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
